Additional information

One study investigating the short-term toxicity of Didodecyl fumarate (CAS 2402-58-6) to freshwater fish is available. The semi-static study was conducted according to GLP and EU method C.1 (Scholz, 1995). A 96 h-LC50 value of 2200 mg/L is determined for Danio rerio on the basis of the nominal test concentration. The test concentrations were measured using DOC analysis; however, the analysis showed that the test substance is only poorly soluble in water and thus the measurement could not be used as basis for the determination of an effect concentration. As the observed undissolved test material was not removed from the treatments, potential effects have to be related to the nominal concentration. Based on the low water solubility of the substance, the observed effects at very high test concentrations can be related to physical interferences rather than systemic toxicity.
