Additional information

Toxicity to fish : The 48 hour LC50 value of methyl 5-nitrohydrogen.isophthalate in fish was found to be 30.42 mg/L. Since the substance is fast biodegradable and the BCF values is less than 500 confirming it is non bioaccumilative substance. It need not to be classified as toxic to aaquatic environment. Also the 14 days long term toxicity to fish (LC50) as estimated by the ECOSAR model was 167000 mg/L. This value suggests that methyl 5-nitrohydrogen.isophthalat does not represent long termtoxicity to fish.

Toxicity to invertebrates : Toxicity to daphnia magna was examined at dose concentration of 26.58 mg/l of methyl 5-nitrohydrogen.isophthalate. Since the substance is fast biodegradable and the BCF values is less than 500 confirming it is non bioaccumilative substance. It need not to be classified as toxic to aaquatic environment. Moreover, long term toxicity of daphnia magna was estimated at dose concentration 887.87 mg/l. This estimate suggests that methyl 5-nitrohydrogen.isophthalate will not exhibit long term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates.
