- Details on test solutions:
- PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION
- Method: Loadings of 1 to 100 mg test substance/L (nominal) were stirred in 2 to 5 L of test medium for about 24 h. On the surface of the stock solutions and the glass beakers brown particles and oil drops were observed. In the range of 1 to 10 mg/L the stock solutions were clear, beginning at the concentration of 30 mg/L the solutions showed a homogeneous turbidity. After a settling time of about 2 h all solutions were filtered through a fast filtrating folded filters. - Test organisms (species):

- Remarks:
- (WAF)
- Basis for effect:
- mobility
- Details on results:
- Toxicity was determined in water accommodated fraction (WAF) of the test substance. WAF was obtainedafter about 24h equilibration of nominal loadings of 1 to 100 mg/L of the substance andsubsequent removal of the undissolved moieties. Mean recovery (by HPLC) was 4.9%.

- - Results with reference substance valid? yes
- EC50/LC50: 1.5 mg/L = within target range of 0.9 - 1.9 mg/L - Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Conclusions:
- In a GLP study according to the EU Method C.2, the LC50 for acute toxicity to Daphnids of the test substance is determined to be 2.7 mg a.i./L.
- Executive summary:
The acute toxicity of the test substance to daphnids was evaluated in a study according to EU Method C.2 under GLP conditions.
In a static study Daphnia magna were exposed for 48h. test concentrations of 1 to 100 mg/L were applied as loading rate WAFs. Analytical monitoring was not performed. All validity criteria were fulfilled. The EL50 is determined to be 2.7 mg a.i./L.

Additional information
One study investigating the short-term toxicity of the test substance to aquatic invertebrates is available. The study was performed according to EU Method C.2 under GLP conditions using Daphnia magna as test organism (Kirch 1998). Test concentrations of 1 to 100 mg/L were applied as loading rate WAFs. Analytical monitoring was not performed. All validity criteria were fulfilled. The EL50 is determined to be 2.7 mg a.i./L.
