BOD5 / COD results
- Results with reference substance:
- The degradation of the positive control substance aniline reached the level of 57% of degradation on Day 7.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Validity criteria fulfilled:
- yes
- Interpretation of results:
- under test conditions no biodegradation observed
- Conclusions:
- The substance is not readily biodegradable.
- Executive summary:
The biodegradation rate from BOD was 1 percent, and the biodegradation rate calculated from the concentration of remaining test substance, by means of HPLC, was 25 percent.
Tested substance degrades to another chemicals by active sludge, however the substances formed were not estimated as readily biodegradable.
Therefore the test substance was not readily biodegradable.
