Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

GLP study according to EU testing guideline A.8 (HPLC method).
Analytical Development Physical Chemistry, Schering AG, Berlin. Study report No. A26853 (ADP 2005_059), dated 2005-03-16.
Result: log Pow = 3.7 (95% confidence limits 3.4 to 3.9)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The n-octanol/water partition coefficient of progesterone was determined at 25°C according to EU testing method A.8, following OECD Testing Guideline 117 (HPLC method) to be (at 25°C, pH7):

                                log Pow= 3.7     (95 % confidence limits 3.4 to 3.9)

This method is based on the correlation of the reversed phase retention data of the test compound with those of reference compounds with known log Pow values.
