The short term aquatic toxicty was studied in:

- Short-term toxicity to aquatic invertebrates: 48h-EC50 for Daphnia magna > 100 mg/L; 24h-EC50 >100 mg/L (OECD TG 202, GLP).
- Algae growth inhibition:  72h-EC50 (Growth rate) > 100 mg/L (n.d.) (OECD 201, GLP).

Both assays revealed no aquatic toxicity indicating that short exposure to potassium bromate below the established limit dose does not possess an acute aquatic hazard.
