Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
auto-ignition temperature (liquids)
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: According to international guideline(s), GLP-compliant, performed in recognized contract research organization, no restrictions, fully adequate for assessment.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.15 (Auto-Ignition Temperature (Liquids and Gases))
Version / remarks:
modified
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Modification of A. 15: the temperature rise of the test material is slower, therefore slower and continous vaporisation can be expected.
The modification was necessary, because the test material could not be handled as liquid due to its high viscosity. This change has no significant impact on the quality and integrity of the study.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)

Auto-ignition temperature:
> 400 °C
Atm. press.:
> 99 - < 99.3 kPa
Remarks on result:

Conclusions:
No auto-ignition was observed in case of WS400402 up to 400 °C.

Description of key information

Commission Regulation (EC) No. 440/2008 (Method A.15) modified to combine the method of auto-ignition temperature of Method A. 15 and A. 16.

Modification: temperature rise of the test material is slower as indicated in A.15 due to the high viscositiy of WS400402.

Result: No auto-ignition temperature was observed up to 400 °C.
