Description of key information

A daphnid 48h LC50 of 16.655 mg/L has been predicted by ECOSAR v1.11 (USEPA, 2012). The prediction is reliable since butylal is in the logKow and MW range of the model.

This prediction is supported by an OECD TG 202 and GLP test in which EC50 is > 28.7 mg/L (TWA)

Additional information

Because concentrations of the test substance had not satisfactorily maintained within ± 20 per cent of the nominal or measured initial concentration throughout the test, the nominal and time-weighted mean concentrations were used for all evaluations and results.
