Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.
The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Administrative data
First-aid measures
o General advice: Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product.
o After inhalation: Supply fresh air; consult doctor in case of complaints.
o After skin contact: Immediately rinse with water. If skin irritation continues, consult a doctor.
o After eye contact: Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.
o After swallowing: Rinse mouth carefully. Call for a doctor immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
o Suitable extinguishing agents: The product is not flammable. Use fire extinguishing methods suitable to surrounding conditions. For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: None.
o Formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or in case of fire. In case of fire, sulphur dioxide (SO2) could be released.
Accidental release measures
o Personnel precautions: Wear protective equipment. Keep unprotected persons away.
o Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.
o Measures for environmental protection: Do not allow product to reach sewage system or any water course. Prevent from spreading (e.g. by damming-in or oil barriers).
o Measures for cleaning/collecting: Absorb with liquid-binding material (sand, diatomite, acid binders, universal binders, sawdust).
Handling and storage
o Handling: Avoid contact with the eyes and skin. Wash hands before each break and after finishing work.
o Storage: Keep container tightly sealed. Prevent any seepage into the ground. Store away from oxidizing agents.

Exposure controls / personal protection
o Occupational exposure controls: No special ventilation requirements. Good general ventilation should be sufficient to control worker exposure to airborne contaminants.
o Environmental exposure controls: Do not allow product to reach ground water, water course or sewage system.
o Respiratory protection: Not necessary if room is well-ventilated.
o Hand protection: Chemical-resistant, impervious gloves complying with an approved standard should be worn, such as PVC gloves.
o Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles and face protection complying with an approved standard should be used to avoid exposure to liquid splashes.
o Skin protection: Wear boots. Wash hands, forearms and face thoroughly after handling chemical products, before eating, smoking and using the lavatory and at the end of the working period. Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothing. Appropriate techniques should be used to remove potentially contaminated clothing. Wash contaminated clothing before reusing.
Stability and reactivity
o To avoid thermal decomposition do not overheat.
o Hazardous decomposition products: Sulphur oxides (SOx).
Disposal considerations
o The generation of waste should be avoided or minimised wherever possible. Empty containers or liners may retain some product residues. Do not empty into drains and avoid release to the environment. Packaging may be reused or recycled after cleaning with water or cleansing agents. This product, solutions and any by-products must be disposed of in a certificated hazardous or special waste collection point, which complies with the requirements of environmental protection and waste disposal legislation and any regional local authority requirements.
o European waste catalogue (EWC): The relevant EU Directives and local, regional and national regulations must be complied with. It is among the tasks of the end user to assign the waste to waste codes specific to industrial sectors and processes according to EWC. It is recommended that the details be agreed with the waste disposer responsible.
Further details on all risk management measures in place to control worker, consumer and environmental exposure can be found in Part B, Chapter 9 of this Chemical Safety Report.
