Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Non oxidising

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

As for other proteins this parameter is not relevant for enzymes, except of oxidases that may catalyse oxidation reactions, provided that the proper substrate and physic-chemical conditions are present.

Since Lysozyme does not belong to the enzyme class of oxidase, this property does not apply.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Lysozyme hydrochloride does not meet the criteria to be considered as oxidising, thus it is not classified as oxidising, according to the CLP Regulation (EC1272/2008).
