Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Long-term exposure to sediment organisms is not expected. KDDC is determined as readily biodegradable and shows no potential for adsorption as the log Koc < 0, thus is not likely to be sorbed to sediment. Therefore, exposure considerations for toxicity are covered by the pelagic tests.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

KDDC is determined as readily biodegradable and shows no potential for adsorption to solid particles (log Koc < 0). Therefore, exposure considerations for toxicity are covered by the pelagic tests. In addition, according to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex X, Column 2, long-term toxicity testing on sediment organisms shall be proposed by the registrant if the results from the chemical safety assessment indicate the need to investigate further the effects of the test compound. As is indicated in the environmental assessment and risk characterisation within the Chemical Safety Report (CSR) attached in section 13, the RCRs for the Environmental compartment are all below 1 (i.e. The PEC/PNEC < 1 based on the Environmental partitioning method (EPM)). No risk for the sediment compartment is therefore indicated, hence there is no need to perform tests for this endpoint.
