Description of key information

One long-term chronic invertebrate life-cycle toxicity test was conducted with EDHO. The study was conducted with the Daphnia magna in 2009 according to OECD Guideline 211 (Daphnia magna Reproduction Test) under GLP. The test was conducted as a semi-static exposure. On each test day throughout the 21-day exposure period the daphnids were transferred to a duplicate set of test vessels containing freshly prepared test solution. The highest nominal concentration for the definitive study was set at 5 mg/l nominal based on information from the acute toxicity study in Daphnia (48 hr EC50 value of 16.9 mg/l and NOEC of 3.56 mg/l based on mean measured concentration of BIOBAN CS-1246 Antimicrobial in the exposure solutions). The test met the validity criteria as specified in the guideline and is the key study for this endpoint. The NOEC, LOEC, and EC50 values for dry weight were determined to be 5.00, > 5.00, and > 5.00 mg test item/L, respectively.
