Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Physico-chemical properties of registered substance were determined from experimental testing, except Vapour pressure, Partition coefficient and Water solubility that were derived from QSAR data on constituents in a constituents approach. Some endpoints were waived, based on chemical structure of known constituents or experience in handling and use of the substance.

The substance is a dark blue organic liquid at ambient temperature. It is expected to float over water, because of its low relative density (0.91).

The substance contains constituents with different volatilities (0.0534 -15.4 Pa at 25°C), different water solubilities (0.000760 and 139 mg constituent/L at 25°C) and log Kow  ranging between 2.2 and 6.8 at 25°C

No hazard was identified with regard to physical properties (flammability, explosivity, oxidising properties, self-heating substance) based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation).

Summary of relevant physico-chemical properties:

Endpoint (method)

Data

Appearance

(visual observation and freezing point determination)

Registered substance is a dark blue organic liquid at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure.

Freezing point

(OECD 102/EU A1, description of the test item at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure,pre-test))

The freezing point of registered substance is stated as <-20°C

Boiling point

(OECD 103/EU A2, DSC)

The test item had no boiling point at atmospheric conditions before decomposition. Decomposition started at approx. 180 °C

Relative density

(OECD 109/EU A3, oscillating densimeter)

The mean relative density of the test item was D20/4 = 0,91.

The mean density of the test item was 0.9149 g/cm3 at 20.0 +/- 0.1°C (mean of two determinations).

Less dense than water.

Granulometry

(data waiving)

study scientifically not necessary (liquid)

Vapour pressure

(Constituent approach - literature and QSAR data on constituents)

The vapour pressure of 10 major components of the substance (more than 90% of the composition) ranging from 0.0534 to 15.4 Pa (estimated by QSAR).

Log Kow

(Constituent approach - literature and QSAR data on constituents)

The log Kow of the 9 major components of the substance (more than 90% of the composition) ranging between 2.2 and 6.8 at 25°C (estimated by QSAR).

Water solubility

(Constituent approach - literature and QSAR data on constituents)

Tha water solubility of the 10 major components (covering more than 90% of the composition of the substance) has been determined to be between 0.000760 and 139 mg/L each at 25°C.

(estimated by QSAR).

Surface tension

(data waiving)

Waived based on chemical structure of the known constituents of the substance, not characteristic of true surfactants and considering that it is not the intended use of the substance (i.e. not a desired property).

Auto-ignition temperature

(EU A15)

The auto-ignition temperature of registered substance was determined to be  250+/-5°C (1023 -1024Pa).

Flammability

Flash-point

(EU A9, ISO 2719 -B, non-equilibrium closed cup)

Flammability air/water

(data Waiving)

Self-heating substances/mixtures

(data waiving)

The flash point of registered substance was determined to be 121.5°C with a rapid equilibrium closed cup method.

The substance is NOT classified based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and UN Globally Harmonised System (GHS).

Waived based on experience in handling and use and chemical structure of known constituents of the substance.

NOT flammable if contact with air or water

Waived based on physical state (liquid)

NO self-heating substance anticipated.

Explosive properties

(data waiving)

Waiving based on experience on this type of substance and chemical structure of known constituents.

Low potential for explosive properties

Oxidising properties

(data waiving)

Waiving based on chemical structure of known constituents of the substance.

Registered substance is considered to have low potential for oxidizing properties.

Slight variations are possible with composition (UVCB substance).
