Vapor Pressure at 100°F: < 0.001 mm Hg

Conclusions:
Alcohols C18-22, distillation residues was determined according ASTM D 2879. The vapour pressure was determined to be < 0.001 mm Hg (=0.001 mBar) at 100°F (38 °C).

Description of key information

The vapour pressure was determined at seven different temperatures. 1/T was plotted against log P. The graph showed no linear correlation; therefore for the test item Alcohols, C18 -22, distn. residues, a regression equation could not be used for the calculation of vapour pressure at room temperature. This was attributed to the complex composition of the test item. It was expected, that the vapour pressure of the test item is < 3.69 x 10E-03 Pa at 20° and 25°C (value from measurement at 342.3 K, this value belongs to the compound with the lowest boiling point and corresponding vapour pressure).

Another determination of vapour pressure was performed according to ASTM-D2879 (Vapor Pressure-Temperature Relationship and Initial Decomposition Temperature of Liquids by Isoteniscope) with a measured value for vapour pressure < 0.001 mbar at 38°C.
