Additional information

Effects following repeat oral exposure confirm that absorption takes place and adaptive changes indicated by effects on enzymes would suggest that a certain level of metabolism is taking place. The substance quickly loses its identity in water and it is probable that exposure to animals is to the breakdown products. The breakdown products are water soluble and are thought unlikely to accumulate. Changes in the kidney in the repeat dose study indicate that the substance or its metabolites passes through the kidney, but there is no evidence as to whether renal excretion takes place.
