Additional information

PNECs were calculated in line with the Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment Chapters R.10 and R.16.

Data on the substance were limited to acute ecotoxicity studies across three trophic levels (fish, daphnia and algae). For the PNEC STP A Koc value of 11010 was calculated using Epi Suite modelling using MCI method for naphthenic acids. From data on the substance's physico chemical properties PNECs concerning sediment and soil have been derived.

Conclusion on classification

In accordance with the criteria set out in section 4.1.2.6 (Table 4.1.0) of Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP), the substance is classified as hazardous to the aquatic environment, Chronic Category 2.
