Description of key information

In the non GLP Klimisch 1 key study from Keune (2016), the water solubility of Disodium 4-[2-[(1-oxoundec-10-enyl)amino]ethyl] 2-sulphonatosuccinate was determined according to OECD 105 and EU method A.6. To confirm the high solubility of the test item, the preliminary test according method A.6 was done. 0.1 mL water, type I, were added to 102.2 mg test item. After approx. one hour a white, oily liquid with white lumps was achieved. Adding further 0.4 mL, a clear liquid with pH 6 – 7 was obtained. This volume of water corresponds to a water solubility of > 200 g/L.

Calculations with the ACD PERCEPTA software Release 2016 (Build 2911 12 Jul 2016) resulted in a water solubility oc 1000 g/L in the ecological relevant pH range of 6.5 to 8 and supported the experimental finding.

The water solubility will be reported as > 200 g/L.

The results of this study are considered relevant and reliable for the risk assessment.
