Results and discussion

Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
Remarks on result:
other: the test substance is considered ‘not self-ignitable’.

Any other information on results incl. tables

An exothermic effect of the test substance by self-heating was observed at an oven temperature of 195°C. During this effect the test substance reached a temperature of 245°C. According to the guideline, a test substance is self-ignitable when the sample temperature reaches 400°C by self-heating. Based on this, the test substance is considered ‘not self-ignitable’.

After the experiment, the test substance had turned into acharred residue and was still in the test cube. It indicated that the test substance had decomposed and/or reacted during the experiment.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The self-ignition temperature of 7-ADCA was determined using a temperature programmed laboratory oven, a stainless steel wire mesh cube, NiCr/NiAl thermocouples and a temperature recording device.

Based on the results obtained the test substance is considered ‘not self-ignitable’.
