Description of key information

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

Due to the lack of sufficient data regarding sensitization, data for the analogue substance 3,5,5-Trimethyl-2 -cyoclohexen-1-one (CAS No. 78-59-1) were taken into account. This substance was analyzed in a study according to OECD Guideline 406 and was found to be not sensitizing (Huels AG, 1989). Because of the structural similarities it can be assumed, that also for 2,5,6 -Trimethyl-2-cyoclohexen-1-one no sensitizing effects have to be expected.

Migrated from Short description of key information:
Sensitization
- Skin sensitization: no sensitizing to skin (Analogy CAS 78-59-1, OECD 406)

Justification for classification or non-classification

Due to negative results in an OECD Guideline study with 3,5,5-Trimethyl-2 -cyoclohexen-1-one (CAS No. 78-59-1) no sensitizing effects of 2,5,6-Trimethyl-2 -cyoclohexen-1-one can be expected and thus it does not need to be classified.
