Additional information

A GLP-compliant OECD 203 guideline study is available for short-term toxicity in zebra fish (Brachydanio rerio) for HBF4. Fish (10/dose) were exposed to five test concentrations of tetrafluoroboric acid (1.0 to 7.1 g/L) and a blank control (without test substance or any other additive) for a period of 96 hours under static conditions. Prior to the initiation of the test the pH value of the stock solution was adjusted to 7.5 with NaOH. Analytical monitoring was performed in three of the exposure concentrations. Analytical values were ~50% of nominal for all concentrations at all sampling times. The 96-h LC50 value was determined at a nominal concentration of 2600 mg/L which corresponds to an analytical concentration of 1300 mg/L.
