Additional information

Tetrafluoroboric acid is a colourless and odourless aqueous solution (typically 50%) with a melting point of <-78°C. At 130 °C tetrafluoroboric acid decomposes. Tetrafluoroboric acid has a density of 1.38 g/cm3, a solubility of at least 870 g/L and a pKa value of -4.9. The volatility of inorganic salts in solution in general is considered to be insignificant. The substance is non-flammable, non-explosive and non-oxidising.
