Conclusion on classification

Although ecotoxicity test were performed with DPX-C and their results were used in read-across (see also read-across justification file), no toxicity was observed to aquatic organisms up to the maximum solubility of the substance. Therefore Dibenzetano is not classified for its aquatic toxicity according to Regulation (EC) n. 1272/2008. Moreover, no PNEC values were calculated for the test item.

Furthermore environmental exposure to the substance is estimated to be negligible (see CSR sections 8 -10).

Although bioaccumulation potential is not excluded, no assessment has been carried out for secondary poisoning because the substance is handled as if it were a PBT.
