Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
- Following inhalation:
In case of symptoms of intoxication remove the person affected from the exposure area and provide with fresh air. Seek medical attention if the symptoms get worse or persist.
- Following skin contact:
In case of contact it is recommended to clean the affected area thoroughly with water and neutral soap. In case of changes to the skin (stinging, redness, rashes, blisters,…), seek medical advice.
- Following eye contact:
Rinse eyes thoroughly with lukewarm water for at least 15 minutes. Do not allow the person affected to rub or close their eyes. If the injured person uses contact lenses, these should be removed unless they are stuck to the eyes, in which case this could cause further damage. In all cases, after cleaning, a doctor should be consulted as quickly as possible.
- Following ingestion:
Rinse mouth with water. Do NOT induce vomiting. If symptoms persist, call a physician or Poison Control Centre immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media:
Product is non-flammable under normal conditions of storage, handling and use. In the case of combustion as a result of improper handling, storage or use preferably use polyvalent powder extinguishers (ABC powder).
- Unsuitable extinguishing media:
IT IS NOT RECOMMENDED to use tap water as an extinguishing agent.
- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture:
As a result of combustion or thermal decomposition reactive sub-products are created that can become highly toxic.
- Advice for fire fighter:
Depending on the magnitude of the fire it may be necessary to use full protective clothing and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA). Minimum emergency facilities and equipment should be available (fire blankets, portable first aid kit).

- Personal precautions:
Sweep up and shovel product or collect by other means and place in container for reuse (preferred) or disposal. Avoid dust formation.
- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Wear protective equipment and follow the advice for safe handling and use.
- Environmental precautions:
Keep product away from drains, surface and ground water.
- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Sweep up and shovel product or collect by other means and place in container for reuse (preferred) or disposal. Keep in properly labelled containers. Keep in suitable, closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling:
Ensure adequate ventilation. Comply with the current legislation concerning the prevention of industrial risks. Control spills and residues, destroying them with safe methods. Avoid leakages from the container. Maintain order and cleanliness where dangerous products are used.
Do not eat or drink during the process, washing hands afterwards with suitable cleaning products.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated location. Avoid sources of heat, radiation, static electricity and contact with food. Keep container closed. Store in original container.

Exposure controls / personal protection
- Technical protection measures
Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at places where dust is formed. Do not get in eyes. Wear protective clothing. Remove contaminated clothing immediately.
- Hand protection:
Wear suitable gloves. Suitable material: Neoprene, Natural Rubber.
- Body protection:
Work clothing, anti-slip work shoes.
- Eye protection:
Safety goggles.
- Respiratory protection:
The use of protection equipment will be necessary if a mist forms or if the occupational exposure limits are exceeded.
- Hygiene measures:
Ensure that eyewash stations and safety showers are close to the workstation location. When using do not eat, drink or smoke. Wash hands before breaks and at the end of workday. Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice.
- Environmental exposure controls:
Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations.
Stability and reactivity
1. Reactivity:
No hazardous reactions are expected because the product is stable under recommended storage conditions.
2. Chemical stability:
Chemically stable under the conditions of storage, handling and use.
3. Possibility of hazardous reactions:
Under the specified conditions, hazardous reactions that lead to excessive temperatures or pressure are not expected.
4. Conditions to avoid:
Not applicable.
5. Incompatible materials:
Avoid strong acids, alkalis or strong bases.
6. Hazardous decomposition products:
Depending on the decomposition conditions, complex mixtures of chemical substances can be released: carbon dioxide (CO2), carbon monoxide and other organic compounds.
Disposal considerations
- Waste management (disposal and evaluation):
Consult the authorized waste service manager on the assessment and disposal operations.
If recycling is not practicable, dispose of in compliance with local regulations.
- Contaminated packaging
Where possible recycling is preferred to disposal or incineration. Clean container with water.
Dispose of rinse water in accordance with local and national regulations. Must be incinerated in a suitable incineration plant holding a permit delivered by the competent authorities.
