Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Approximately 99.99 % of difluoromethane released into the environment will enter the air compartment, 0.01 % the water and 0.18 E-5 % the soil.
Executive summary:

A theoretical distribution of difluoromethane has been calculated at 25 °C using the fugacity model level 1 of Mackay (Nordbas1) with a vapor pressure of 16,900 hPa and a solubility of 4.4 g/l. Approximately 99.99 % of difluoromethane released into the environment will enter the air compartment, 0.01 % the water and 0.18 E-5 % the soil.
