First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Eyes: Immediately flush with water at least 15 minutes.
Emergency measure - Skin: Remove the liquid from the skin with dry cloth and wash with
detergent.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Wash out the mouth with water if the person is conscious.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Carbon dioxide extinguisher or foam extinguisher should be
used.
Product arising from burning: Carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxides, water and silica ash are
produced by complete combustion of the substance. Various
intermediate organic oxides such as aldehydes and carbon
monoxide can naturally be evolved too.

Protective equipment: Personal protective equipments should be put on to avoid
direct contact to skin or eyes and inhalation of any gaseous
materials.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Shut off all ignition sources, wear appropriate protective
equipments contain the spill and collect on absorbent
material.
Handling and storage
Handling: In the process to silicone rubber compounds, it is necessary
to put on rubber gloves and goggles to avoid direct contact
to skin and eyes.
Storage: For the substance itself, usual cans and drums of resin-
coated steel should be used.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: The substance is usually packaged and transported in cans or
drums of resin-coated steel.
The silicone rubber compounds processed with the substance
will be packaged and transported in cartridges.

Stability and reactivity
Chemical reaction with water: The substance reacts gradually but steadily with water or
moisture even at room temperature to release methanol.
The reaction is not so risky (not explosive nor especially
exothermic), while methanol is known as flammable and
hazardous to the health and the environment.
