Description of key information

Thiophosphoryl trichloride hydrolyses rapidly in water at room temperature. After 2.5h, thiophosphoryl trichloride was completely converted to hydrolysis products. Final main hydrolysis product after 9h of hydrolysis is thiophosphoric acid. Traces of phosphoric acid and phosphoric acid mono chloride could be detected. The method applied (31P-NMR spectroscopy) is not capable of detecting hydrochloric acid, which is an expected hydrolysis product from a chemical point of view.
