First-aid measures
Description of first aid measures
General information: Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.
In case of inhalation: If breathing is difficult, remove to fresh air and keep at rest in a position
comfortable for breathing. In case of respiratory arrest apply artificial
respiration. Immediately get medical attention.
In case of skin contact: Remove residues with soap and water. Change contaminated clothing. In
case of skin reactions, consult a physician.
After eye contact: Immediately flush eyes with plenty of flowing water for 10 to 15 minutes
holding eyelids apart. Remove contact lenses, if any. Subsequently seek
the immediate attention of an ophthalmologist.
After swallowing: Rinse mouth with water. Give water to drink in small sips. Do not induce
vomiting. Never give an unconscious person anything through the mouth.
Seek medical attention.
Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
Causes serious eye damage.
In case of skin contact: Can cause irritation.
Fire-fighting measures
Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media:
Water fog, foam, extinguishing powder, carbon dioxide (CO2).
Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
In case of fire may be liberated: oxides of sodium, hydrogen cyanide (HCN), Nitrogen oxides
(NOx), carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide (CO2).
Advice for firefighters
Special protective equipment for firefighters:
Use a breathing apparatus independent of the ambient air (isolated apparatus) and a full
protection outfit (suit) against chemicals.
Additional information: Hazchem-Code: 2X
Do not allow fire water to penetrate into surface or ground water.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Avoid exposure. Provide adequate ventilation. Wear personal protection equipment. Avoid dust
formation. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Environmental precautions
Do not allow to penetrate into soil, waterbodies or drains.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Take up mechanically. Collect in closed containers for disposal.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling
Advices on safe handling:
Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use.
Provide adequate ventilation, and local exhaust as needed. Wear personal protection equipment.
Avoid dust formation. Do not breathe dust. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Requirements for storerooms and containers: Keep container dry, tightly closed and store at cool
and aired place. Protect from moisture contamination. Packaging materials: polyethylene bag
(water resistent)
Hints on joint storage: Do not store together with food.
Storage class: 11 = Combustible solids

Exposure controls / personal protection
Exposure controls
Provide appropriate exhaust ventilation at machinery and at places where dust can be generated.
Occupational exposure controls
Respiratory protection: In case of dust: Dust mask
Particulates filter P2 according to EN 143.
Hand protection: Protective gloves according to EN 374.
Glove material: Nitrile rubber.
Breakthrough time: >480 min.
Observe glove manufacturer's instructions concerning penetrability and
breakthrough time.
Eye protection: Tightly sealed goggles according to EN 166.
Body protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.
General protection and hygiene measures:
Avoid exposure - obtain special instructions before use.
Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Take off contaminated clothing. Wash
hands before breaks and after work. When using do not eat, drink or
smoke.
Work place should be equipped with a shower and an eye rinsing
apparatus.

Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
Product
Waste key number: 16 03 05 * = Organic wastes containing dangerous substances
* = Evidence for disposal must be provided.
Recommendation: Dispose of as special waste in compliance with local and national
regulations.
