Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The chronic toxicity of Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., hexaesters with dipentaerythritol (CAS 68604-38-6) to aquatic invertebrates was tested in a guideline study following OECD 211 (Caduff, 2013). Daphnia magna were exposed to the test substance in a semi-static test system. The water accommodated fraction (WAF) was used for the preparation of the test solutions. During the exposure period of 21 days the mortality and reproduction rate of the test animals was recorded. The substance affected neither the survival rate nor the reproduction rate of Daphnia magna. The highest tested concentration of 100 mg/L (loading rate) was determined as NOEC. Thus toxic effects of Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., hexaesters with dipentaerythritol (CAS 68604-38-6) were not observed within the limit of water solubility (WS<0.15 mg/L).
