First-aid measures

If inhaled:

- Move to a fresh air environment. Contact a physician if breathing becomes difficult.

Exposure to decomposition products:

- Move to fresh air.

- Oxygen or artificial respiration if needed.

In case of eye contact

- Flush eyes with large amounts of water for fifteen minutes. Separate eyelids with fingers. If irritation persists, seek medical attention.

In case of skin contact :

- Wash off immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes.

- If symptoms persist, call a physician.

If swallowed :

- If accidentally swallowed obtain immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media:

- Carbon dioxide, dry chemical powder, alcohol-resistant foam, or water spray

Unsuitable extinguishing media:

- water.

Specific hazards arising from the chemical:

- In case of fire hazardous decomposition products may be produced.

Special protective actions for fire-fighters:

- Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective suit.

- Evacuate personnel to safe areas.

- Approach from upwind.

- Keep product and empty container away from heat and sources of ignition.

Accidental release measures

Personal Protection:

Wear a self-contained breathing apparatus, rubber boots and gloves.

Remove from ignition sources if safe to do so.

Keep unprotected persons away.

Environmental Protection:

Keep spills out of sewers and bodies of water. Contain the spill with inert material. Absorb on sand, vermiculite or diatomite.

Transfer material to a container for disposal or recovery. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete.

Handling and storage

- Handling - In case of accidental exposure : Wear suitable personal protection equipment. Do not allow contact with eyes, skin or clothing. Do not breath in the dust. Do not swallow, Avoid creating dust when handling, and avoid all possible sources of ignition (spark or flame). Prevent the dust collecting. Wear suitable breathing equipment if the ventilation system is inadequate. Eating, drinking and smoking are forbidden in places where this product is handled, stored or used. Keep in the original container or in another replacement approved container made from compatible material and kept hermetically closed when it is not in use. Keep away from heat, sparks, naked flames, and any other ignition source. Electrical equipment and lighting should be protected in accordance with the prevailing norms in order to prevent the dust from coming into contact with hot surfaces, sparks or other sources of combustion. Necessary measures should be taken against electrostatic discharges. The empty containers contain product residues and can be a source of danger. Do not reuse this container. Ventilate the area and vacuum around the workstation to avoid the accumulation of dust. Do not discard in the environment. Ground the installations.

- Storage : In view of the self-heating properties of this product, store away from the air (in sealed bags or metal containers hermetically sealed) at a temperature below 30 ° C, keep out of direct sunlight, in a dry, cool and well-ventilated place away from incompatible materials. Separate from oxidizing materials. When mixed with air at room temperatures above 20 °C, this product can overheat on its own.

Use an appropriate receptacle in order to avoid environmental contamination. Do not store in unlabeled containers. Keep the container sealed when the product is not in use. Keep away from heat and ignition sources.
