Additional information

Experimental data are available for the assessment of the short-term toxicity of isophorone to aquatic algae. In the study performed by Huels AG (1996) the substance was tested in a static test, conducted according to OECD 201. Desmodesmus subspicatus ws used as a test organism. The 72-h EbC50 was determined to be 475 mg/L and EbC10 was 64 mg/L (nominal, biomass, 1996). No analytical measurement was performed during the study.

Additionally, under supervision of the Japanese Ministry of the Environment a study according to OECD 201 (1984) was conducted under GLP and publishe. The test species was Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata. The 72-h ErC50 was determined to be 205.2 mg/L (nominal, growth rate, NITE, 2020). The test concentrations were analytically verified.

Therefore, it can be concluded, that the substance is with high probability acutely not harmful to algae.
