First-aid measures

- General advice: Get medical attention if any discomfort develops.

- Following inhalation: Move to fresh air. Call a physician if symptoms develop or persist.

- Following skin contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash with soap and water. Get medical attention if irritation develops and persists.

- Following eye contact: Flush eyes thoroughly with water for at least 15 minutes. Get medical attention if irritation develops or persists.

- Following ingestion: In case of oral exposure, rinse mouth for at least 15 minutes.  For chemical ingestion, seek medical attention, do not induce vomiting.

- Notes to physician: Treat symptomatically.

Fire-fighting measures

- Personal precautions, protective equipment: Remove all sources of ignition. Use personal protective equipment. Fire-fighters should wear appropriate protective equipment and self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA) with a full face-piece operated in positive pressure mode. Clothing for fire-fighters (including helmets, protective boots and gloves) conforming to European standard EN 469 will provide a basic level of protection for chemical incidents.

- Suitable extinguishing media: Dry chemical, CO2, water spray, fog, or foam. Use an extinguishing agent suitable for the surrounding fire.

- Unsuitable extinguishing media: Do not use water jet as an extinguisher, as this will spread the fire.

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: By heating and fire, toxic vapors/gases may be formed.

- Advice for fire fighter: Move containers from fire area if you can do it without risk. Use water spray to cool unopened containers. Self-contained breathing apparatus and full protective clothing must be worn in case of fire.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions: Ensure adequate ventilation. For personal protection, see “Exposure Controls / Personal Protection” section.

- Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter drains, sewers or watercourses.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Stop leak if you can do so without risk. Dike the spilled material, where this is possible. Small spills cleaning up: Absorb spillage with non-combustible, absorbent material. Large spills cleaning up: Use a non-combustible material like vermiculite, sand or earth to soak up the product and place into a container for later disposal. Wash area with soap and water.

- Release measures: Keep away from open flames, hot surfaces and sources of ignition.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling: Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged skin contact. Wash hands after contact. Observe good industrial hygiene practices.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Keep container tightly closed in a dry and well-ventilated place. Store away from incompatible materials. Keep away from heat and sources of ignition.

Exposure controls / personal protection

- Recommended monitoring procedures: Follow standard monitoring procedures.

- Engineering controls / Personal protective equipment: Provide adequate ventilation and minimize the risk of inhalation of vapors and mists.

- Eye/face protection: Wear safety glasses with side protection in accordance with EN 166.

- Skin protection: Wear suitable protective clothing.

- Respiratory protection: In case of inadequate ventilation or risk of inhalation of vapors, use suitable respiratory equipment. Use a positive-pressure air-supplied respirator, if there is any potential for an uncontrolled release, exposure levels are not known or any other circumstances where air-purifying respirators may not provide adequate protection. E.g. Combination filtering device (DIN EN 14387), Filter type A-P2. Seek advice from local supervisor.

- Hand protection: Use impervious gloves approved to relevant standards e.g. EN 374

Stability and reactivity

- Chemical stability: Stable at normal conditions.

- Possibility of hazardous reactions: Hazardous polymerization does not occur.

- Conditions to avoid: Contact with incompatible materials. Ignition sources.

- Incompatible materials: Oxidizing agents, acids.

- Hazardous decomposition products: Oxides of carbon and phosphorous.

Disposal considerations

- Disposal methods: Dispose in accordance with all applicable regulations.

- Waste from residues unused products: Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

- Contaminated packaging: Dispose of in accordance with local regulations.

The allocation of waste identity numbers/waste descriptions must be carried out according to the EWC, specific to the industry and process.
