Administrative data
First-aid measures
- Skin Exposure:
In case of contact, take off contaminated cloth, wash skin with soap and copious amounts of water. If irritation persists or you feel unwell, call a physician.
- Eye Exposure:
In case of contact, separate the eyelids with fingers and flush with copious amounts of water or physiological saline for at least 15 minutes. If necessary, get medical attention.
- Inhalation Exposure:
If inhaled, remove to fresh air. If not breathing, give artificial respiration. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician.
- Oral Exposure:
If swallowed, wash out mouth with water provided person is conscious. Do not induce vomiting. Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person. Call a physician immediately.
Fire-fighting measures
- Suitable extinguishing media:
Use water spray, dry sand, alcohol-resistant foam or carbon dioxide to extinguish.
- Special hazards arising from the product:
May release CO and CO2 under fire conditions.
- Special protective actions for fire-fighters:
Protective Equipment: Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and protective clothing to prevent contact with skin and eyes.
Fire-extinguishing work is done from the windward.
Uninvolved persons should evacuate to a safe place.
Eliminate all ignition sources.
Accidental release measures
- Personal Precaution, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Use personal protective equipment. Avoid breathing vapours, mist or gas. Ensure adequate ventilation. Quickly eliminate all ignition sources. Entry to noninvolved personnel should be controlled around the leakage area by roping off.
- Environmental precautions:
Prevent further leakage or spillage if safe to do so. Do not let product enter drains. Discharge into the environment must be avoided.
- Methods and materials for containment and cleaning up:
Mix with inert material (e.g. dry sand, vermiculite) and transfer to a dry, clean, lidded container for disposal. Avoid inhalation. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pickup is complete.
Handling and storage
- Precautions for safe handling:
Wear chemical-resistant working clothing and chemical-resistant protective gloves.
Avoid inhalation.
Avoid contact with eyes, skin and clothing.
Prevent generation of vapor and mist.
Handling is performed in a well ventilated place.
Keep away from ignition sources, heat and flame.
No smoking at working site.
Incompatibilities: Strong oxidizing agents.
- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
Store in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area.
Keep away from air, ignition sources, heat and flame.
Store in a tightly closed container.
Separate from strong oxidizing agents.
Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.
