Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
adsorption / desorption: screening
Type of information:
calculation (if not (Q)SAR)
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 121 (Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (Koc) on Soil and on Sewage Sludge using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC))
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method C.19 (Estimation of the Adsorption Coefficient (KOC) on Soil and Sewage Sludge Using High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC))
Deviations:
no
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
other: estimation based on empirical relationship with the water solubility
Key result
Type:
log Koc
Value:
> 3.5 dimensionless
Temp.:
20 °C
Remarks on result:
not determinable because of methodological limitations
Remarks:
log Koc was estimated based on empirical relationship with the water solubility

A value of log10Koc for a representative component of the test material was also estimated by a calculation method using a computer program (KOCWIN, Version 2.00, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency). The determined value was significantly greater than 6, confirming the high value obtained through correlation with the water solubility.

Validity criteria fulfilled:
not applicable

Description of key information

Log Koc at 20 °C : >3.5 (empirical relationship with the water solubility; OECD 121, EU C.19)

Key value for chemical safety assessment
