First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Administration of oxygen or fresh air. Seek medical
attention. Medical supervision for at least 48 hours.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush with copius amounts of water under open eye lid for
several minutes. Protect unaffected eye. Seek medical
attention. Medical supervision for at least 48 hours.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash affected areas with copious amounts of water. Take off
contaminated clothing immediately. Seek medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Remove all sources of ignition.
Take up spilt material avoiding the formation of dust (e. g.
by wetting with water or by using an approved industrial va-
cuum cleaner). Carefully transfer the spilt material to
waste containers which must be tightly closed and labelled
according to TRGS 201.
Dispose of according to local regulations.
While taking up the spilt material and cleaning the polluted
area avoid any skin and eye contact as well as any inhala-
tion of the substance by wearing appropriate personal pro-
tective equipment (see section 'Handling').
Do not drain into surface water of canalisation.
Handling and storage
Handling: All working methods must always be designed so that exposure
by inhalation of the substance and by skin contact is mini-
mized. Eye contact with the substance should be avoided.
Use closed equipment during filling, transfer and metered
feeding as well as during sampling.
In the case of handling the substance in open systems,ex-
tract any dust which forms directly at the point of origin.
The extracted air may only be returned to the working area
after sufficient cleaning using approved equipment.
If technical extraction or ventilation measures are not pos-
sible or are insufficient, suitable respiratory protection
(e.g. full face mask (EN 136), combination filter ABEK-P3
(EN 141)) has to be worn.
To avoid skin contact, tested protective gloves (e.g. gloves
category III (EN 374). durability: level 6 (480 min)) and,
if applicable, suitable protective clothing has to be worn.
To avoid eye contact, safe eye protection (e.g. tightly fit-
ting goggles with lateral protection (not necessary in case
full face mask is used)) should be worn.
Keep to a minimum the number of workers in each of the af-
fected working areas.
Adequate washing facilities should be provided in the imme-
diate vicinity of the working area.
Contaminated clothing must be changed immediately.
After contact with the skin, the affected parts of the body
should be thoroughly cleaned instantly using plenty of wa-
ter.
Outdoor clothing has to be kept separate from working
clothes.
In cases where dusts can form, due to the potential dust-ex-
plosion risk, potential sources of ignition should be remo-
ved from the working area. In addition, measures should be
taken to prevent electrostatic discharges.
Storage: Store the substance in the original packing drums or other
secure containers which are labelled according to the re-
gulations. Keep them tightly closed and secure them against
falling by taking the appropriate measures.
Avoid residues on the outside of the containers and any for-
mation of dust.
Static discharges must be avoided.
Protect containers from heat and direct insolation.
Observe prohibitions on the joint storage of different mate-
rials (see Technical Rule 514).
