- Expiration date of the lot/batch: 2018-07-07
- Water solubility: 925 g/L ± 9 g/L at T = 20.0 °C ± 0.5 °C
STABILITY AND STORAGE CONDITIONS OF TEST MATERIAL
- Storage condition of test material: Room temperature, protect from light, in the tightly closed original container
- Stability under test conditions: stable
Sampling and analysis
- Analytical monitoring:
- yes
- Details on sampling:
- - Concentrations: 120 mg/L
- Sampling method: Before the start of the exposure and at renewal (0 and 24 hours), samples of the fresh media were taken after preparation of the limit concentration and analyzed. At water renewal and at the end of the exposure (24 and 48 hours), samples of the old media were taken directly from the test vessels for analyses
- Sample storage conditions before analysis: All original samples were stored at room temperature. Prepared samples were stored at room temperature in an autosampler until analysis
Test solutions
- Vehicle:
- no
- Details on test solutions:
- PREPARATION AND APPLICATION OF TEST SOLUTION (especially for difficult test substances)
- The limit concentration (120 mg/L were weighed out) was freshly prepared with dilution water prior to the start of the exposure (0 hours) and before media renewal (24 hours).
The limit concentration was mixed thoroughly by manual agitation. No Tyndall effect was observed in the limit concentration before insertion of the daphnids.
Test organisms
- Test organisms (species):
- Daphnia magna
- Details on test organisms:
- TEST ORGANISM
- Common name: Daphnia magna STRAUS
- Strain/clone: (Clone 5)
- Source: Institut für Wasser-, Boden- und Lufthygiene (WaBoLu), 14195 Berlin, Germany
- Breeder: Noack Laboratorien GmbH, Käthe-Paulus-Str. 1, 31157 Sarstedt, Germany
- Age of parental stock (mean and range, SD): Less than 24 hours old daphnids from a healthy stock were used for the study. Juvenile daphnids were removed from the culture vessels at the latest 24 hours before the start of the exposure and discarded. The juveniles born within the following period of max. 24 hours preceding the exposure were used for the test. No first brood progeny was used for the test.
- Feeding during test: The daphnids were not fed during the study.
ACCLIMATION
- The culture daphnids were fed at least 5 times per week ad libitum with a mix of unicellular green algae, e.g. Pseudokirchneriella
subcapitata and Desmodesmus subspicatus, with an algae cell density of > 106 cells/mL. The algae were cultured at the test facility.
