Appearance:
On the basis of physical observation and using the sense of smell, (4 -(4 - aminophenyl)(4 -iminocyclohexa-2,5 -dienylidene)methyl)-2 -methylaniline hydrochloride (CAS No. 632 -99 -5 ) was observed to be a dark green solid powder.
Melting point:
The melting point determination of Test item (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-iminocyclohexa-2,5- dienylidene)methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride (CAS No. 632-99-5 ) was done as per the test guideline OECD 102. The method followed was according to Capillary/metal block. The Mean Melting Point was determine to be 249.8°C at 969.1 hPa.
Boiling Point:
The boiling point determination of Test item (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-iminocyclohexa-2,5 - dienylidene)methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride (CAS No. 632-99-5 ) was done as per the test guideline OECD 103. The method followed was according to Siwoloboff. The boiling point was determine to be greater than 300 °C at 969.8 hPa.
Density:
The density of Test item (4-(4 -aminophenyl)(4-iminocyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene)methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride (CAS No. 632-99- 5 ) was determined following OECD guideline 109 and according to the method adapted from ASTM D 854-02. The mean density of the test item was determine to be 0.6014 g/cm³at 20 °C and 970.1 hPa.
Particle size distribution:
The particle size distribution of test item (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-iminocyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene)methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride (CAS No. 632-99-5 ) was determined by granulometric analysis with rotap sieve shaker. The particle size distribution was determine to bein the range of 150 micron to 10 micron.
Vapour pressure:
The estimated vapour pressure of (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-imino -cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene) methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride at 25 deg C was 1.97E-12 Pa.
Partition coefficient:
Based on the available data from experimental study report, the partition Coefficient n-octanol/water of chemical (4 -(4 -aminophenyl)(4 -iminocyclohexa-2,5 -dienylidene)methyl)-2 -methylaniline hydrochloride (CAS No. 632 -99 -5) was determined by the Reverse Phase High Performance Liquid Chromatography method according to OECD Guideline No. 117 for testing of Chemicals. A test item solution was prepared by accurately weighing 4 mg of test item and diluted with Methanol up to 10 ml. Thus, the test solution concentration was 400 mg/l. The pH of test substance was 6.3.The reference substances were chosen according to functional similarity with the test substance and calibration graph was prepared was prepared. The reference substances were 4-Acetylpyridine, Acetophenone, Benzophenone, Phenol, 2-Nitrophenol, Nitrobenzene, Naphthalene, n-Butylbenzene, 2,6-Diphenylpyridine having Pow value ranging from 0.5 to 4.9. The Log Pow value of the test chemical (4 -(4 -aminophenyl)(4 -iminocyclohexa-2,5 -dienylidene)methyl)-2 -methylaniline hydrochloride was determined to be 1.632± 0.004 at 25°C. On the basis of this value, the test substance (4 -(4 -aminophenyl)(4 -iminocyclohexa-2,5 -dienylidene)methyl)-2 -methylaniline hydrochloride can be considered to be hydrophilic in nature.
Water solubility:
Water solubility of (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-iminocyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene)methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride is determine to be 4000 mg/L at 25 Deg C.
Surface tension:
Based on the data from ACD labs, surface tension for (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-imino -cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene) methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride was predicted to be 0.0468 N/m.
Flash point:
The flash point determination of (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-iminocyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene)methyl)-2- methylaniline hydrochloride (CAS No. 632-99-5)was done following closed cup method using Pensky- Martens flash point apparatus. The test was conducted in duplicate and mean flash point was determine to be 221.5°C at 970.2 hPa.
Auto flammability:
(4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-imino -cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene) methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride did not catch fire on being exposed to air at room temperature of 27 °C pressure of 966 hPa. This indicates that (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-imino -cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene) methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride is not auto-flammable.
Flammability:
(4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-imino -cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene) methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride does not indicate any ignition when the flame of bunsen burner having temperature of approximately 950°C is brought in contact with it. Thus it can be concluded that (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-imino -cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene) methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride is not flammable at high temperature. However since such high temperatures are not found under normal circumstances of transportation and use, thus (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-imino -cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene) methyl)-2-methylaniline hydrochloride was considered non-flammable.
Explosiveness:
The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties.

pH :
The pH determination of test item (4-(4-aminophenyl)(4-iminocyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene)methyl)-2- methylaniline hydrochloride (CAS No 632-99-5) was done following OECD guideline 122. pH of 1% w/v dispersion was measured with the help of pH meter and it was observed to be 6.94 at 26.2 °C.

-dienylidene)methyl)-2 -methylaniline hydrochloride by OECD Guideline 107 (Partition Coefficient (n-octanol / water), Shake Flask Method) was determined to be 1.36.
