Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information:Persons who have come into contact with the material or have breathed in vapours should get immediate medical teatment also in case of delayed symptoms.Add all available substance related information. Immediately remove any clothing soiled by the product. After inhalation: In case of unconsciousness place patient stably in side position for transportation. After skin contact: Immediately wash with water and soap and rinse thoroughly. After eye contact: Call a doctor immediately. Remove contact lenses immediately! Rinse opened eye for several minutes under running water. After swallowing: Drink plenty of water and provide fresh air. Call for a doctor immediately. Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed:Contact with dust may cause irritation of mucous membranes. Burning of eyes, mucous membranes and skin. Coughing, headache, indisposition, shortness of breath.Skin: Strong irritating/corrosive action.Eyes: Danger for loss of sight after contact with the eyes! Strong irritation with danger of serious damage to eyes. Possibly damage of cornea.Respiratory tract: After breathing of dust possible rritation of nose, respiratory tract, lungs: Cough, shortness of breath.Hazards and systemic effects: On eye contact with liquid there is a risk of corneal damage.Strong irritating effect after breathing of dust and contact with eyes.Extremely corrosive action on mucous membranes of upper respiratorytract as well as eyes and skin. After contact with this material possibly corrosive action on skin and mucous mambranes.Risk of serious damage to eyes.Target organs: Skin, eyes, mucous membranes, respiratory tract
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing agents: CO2, powder or water spray. Fight larger fires with water spray or alcohol resistant foam. For safety reasons unsuitable extinguishing agents: No restriction in large fires.Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: In case of fire, the following can be released: Sulphur dioxide (SO2), Carbon monoxide (CO)Advice for firefighters, protective equipment: Wear self-contained respiratory protective device, chemical resistant protective suit. Under the protective suit a fire protective suit according to EN 469 should be applied.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency proceduresWear protective clothing. Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not breathe dust.Access only for trained personnel with personal protective equipment.Use respiratory protective device against the effects of fumes/dust/aerosol. Avoid formation of dust.Environmental precautions: Do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system. Keep contaminated washing water and dispose of appropriately. Methods for cleaning up: Pick up mechanically. If formation of dust cannot be avoided use respiratory filter device.Ensure adequate ventilation.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling: Empty containers must not be used for other products. Contaminated protective equipment should be cleaned before taking it off.Any unavoidable deposit of dust must be completely removed. Fill only in dedicated and assigned containers. Keep containers tightly sealed.Store in a dry location, keep away from humidity. Store in a cool location.Do not store together with alkalis (caustic solutions). Store away from oxidising agents.Corrosion of metals: Corrosive to metals.Recommended storage temperature: <+30 °C

Exposure controls / personal protection
The manufacturing/use of the registered substance fulfils strictly controlled conditions. Therefore, no exposure of man or the environment is expected. In the case of accidental exposure, the following measures should be taken:Take care of sufficient ventilation. Avoid formation of dust.Waste gases should be led into the atmosphere only via appropriate separators, scrubbers or incinerators.General protective and hygienic measures:Contaminated protective suit shall be cleaned before taking it off.Keep away from foodstuffs, beverages and feed.Immediately remove all soiled and contaminated clothingWash hands before breaks and at the end of work.Store protective clothing separately. Avoid contact with the eyes and skin.Respiratory protection: Particle filter, filter grade (P1 - P3).Protection of hands: Rubber gloves (for undissolved solid).Eye protection: Safety glasses.Body protection: Use dust-proof protective suit.Limitation and supervision of exposure into the environment:Avoid spillage of product into the environment. Use this material only in closed systems and devices. In case of open plant systems (sampling devices, filling and discharging, cleansing works etc.) use local exhaust and collecting trays. Follow emission limit values. Measures in case of unwanted emissions should be established.Risk management measures: General protective and hygienic measures have to be observed.Handling and use of this material/formulation only under controlled conditions in closed systems.Employees who use this material/formulation must be trained and demonstrably instructed about possible risks for man and environment.Measures for prevention of hazards in case of unwanted leakage shall be implemented.
Stability and reactivity
Thermal decomposition / conditions to be avoided: No decomposition if used according to specifications.Possibility of hazardous reactions: The possibility of formation of explosive dust/air mixtures under certain conditions should be principally considered during handling and processing.Incompatible materials: Strong oxidizing agents.Hazardous decomposition products: Sulphur dioxide, carbon monoxide and carbon dioxide.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods, Recommendation:Must not be disposed together with household garbage. Do not allow product to reach sewage system.Must be specially treated adhering to official regulations. If possible recovery or recycling.Empty contaminated packagings thoroughly. They may be recycled after thorough and proper cleaning.Packagings that may not be cleansed are to be disposed of in the same manner as the product.Appropriate disposal: Empty container completely. Storage in a safe place after emptying.
