Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
Contact with Eyes :
Immediately flush eyes with copious amounts of clean water for at least 15 minutes, holding eyelids apart if necessary.
Seek medical attention.
Contact with Skin :
Immediately flush affected area with copious amounts of water.
Remove contaminated clothing, launder before reuse.
Seek medical attention.
Ingestion :
Providing person is conscious wash out mouth with plenty of water (do not swallow) and give plenty of water to drink, do not induce vomiting.
Seek medical attention.
Inhalation :
Remove from exposure, rest and keep warm.
If breathing is difficult give oxygen, if breathing stops give artificial respiration.
Do not use mouth to mouth method.
Seek medical attention if ill effects occur
Fire-fighting measures
Special Circumstances/Conditions:
Water may be used to cool sealed exposed containers.
Do not scatter material with direct water streams.
Dyke area to contain liquors for later disposal.
Exposure Hazards :
Thermal decomposition may lead to release of toxic fumes of oxides of carbon and sulfur
Personal ProtectiveEquipment :
Self-contained breathing apparatus, PVC suit, PVC gloves and boots.
Extinguishing Media:
Primary : Regular foam, water spray or fog.
Secondary : Dry chemical powder or Carbon dioxide
Accidental release measures
Personal Protection :
Goggles, rubber boots and gloves, chemical resistant suit and suitable respiratory protection.
Environmental Protection :
Do not dispose of material or wash down liquors via drains.
Spill Control Guidance :
Scrape up material and place into sealable containers for disposal.
Decontamination :
Wash down spill site with water taking care to contain liquors.
Handling and storage
Risk Management Measures: This substance is handled under Strictly Controlled Conditions in accordance with REACH Regulation Articles 17(3) for on-site isolated intermediates or Article 18(4) for transported isolated intermediates and ECHA Guidance on Intermediates, version 2-December 2010 (Reference: ECHA-2010-G-17-EN). Site documentation to support safe handling arrangements including the selection of engineering, administrative and personal protective equipment controls in accordance with risk-based management systems is available at the site(s) of manufacture / use.
AVOID ALL CONTACT
Use only in an area with local exhaust ventilation.
Wash thoroughly after working with this material.
Storage :
Keep in sealed containers in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
