Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Classification related key information

Degradation

Biodegradation: readily biodegradable: 61% after 28 d (BOD, OECD 301 F)

Bioaccumulation

Log Kow: 1.55 to 3.07 at 21.9 °C (EU Method A.8., HPLC method)

Aquatic acute toxicity

Aquatic invertebrates: 48 h, EL50 (Daphnia magna): 3.57 mg/L (nominal loading rate)

Algae: 72 h, ErL50 (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): 8.29 mg/L (nominal loading rate)

Aquatic chronic toxicity

Aquatic invertebrates: no data available

Algae: 72 h, ErL10 (Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata): 5.19 mg/L (nominal loading rate)

Conclucsion on Classification

The test substance is readily biodegradable and the log Kow is below 4. Two studies are available for aquatic toxicity covering aquatic microalgae (EL50 = 8.29 mg/L, EL10 = 5.19 mg/L) and invertebrates (EL50 = 3.57 mg/L,D. magna). Thus, the substance does not need to be classified for aquatic hazards according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (8thATP).
