Description of key information

Appearance:

On the basis of physical observation,the chemical N-(4-((4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)(4-(phenylamino)naphthalen-1-yl)methylene)cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene)-N-methylmethanaminium acetate was observed to be maroon coloured lustrous liquid in appearance.

Freezing point:

The Freezing point determination of [4-[[4-anilino-1-naphthyl][4- (dimethylamino)phenyl]methylene]cyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene]dimethylammonium acetate (CAS No.83803-79-6) was done using crushed ice and salt.. No freezing was observed up to - 16.39°C. Hence, the freezing point was inferred to be less than -16.39 °C at 970.2 hPa.

Boiling point:

The boiling point determination of [4-[[4-anilino-1-naphthyl][4- (dimethylamino)phenyl]methylene]cyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene]dimethylammonium acetate (CAS No. 83803-79-6) was done following OECD Guideline 103 and according to the method of Siwoloboff. The test item does not show string of bubbles up to 300 °C.,inferring b.p. to be greater than 300 °C. and boiling point was determined  to be greater than 300°C at 968.8 hPa.

Density:

The density of chemical [4-[[4-anilino-1-naphthyl][4- (dimethylamino)phenyl]methylene]cyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene]dimethylammonium acetate (CAS No. 83803-79-6)was determined following OECD Guideline 109 and according to the IS 4730 : 1994 (Reaffirmed 2010) – Method for Determination of Density of Liquids (First Revision) using glass pyknometer. The mean density of chemical  was determined to be 1.1013 g/cm³at 20°C and 971.2 hPa.

Particle Size Distribution:

The study does not need to be conducted because the test chemical is marketed or used in a non- solid or granular form.

N-(4-((4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)(4-(phenylamino)naphthalen-1-yl)methylene)cyclohexa-2,5 -dienylidene)-N-methylmethanaminium acetate was observed to be maroon coloured lustrous liquid in appearance.Hence, this endpoint was considered for waiver.

Vapor Pressure:

MPBPVP v1.43 was used to estimate the vapor pressure of N-(4-((4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)(4-(phenylamino)naphthalen-1-yl)methylene)cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene)-N-methylmethanaminium acetate.The estimated vapor pressure of N-(4-((4-(dimethylamino)phenyl)(4-(phenylamino)naphthalen-1-yl)methylene)cyclohexa-2,5-dienylidene)-N-methylmethanaminium acetatewas at 25°C was 5.76E-018Pa.

Partition Coefficient:

Based on the available data from modeling database using the KOWWIN V1.68 program, the partition coefficient (log Pow) value of the substanceN-(4 -((4 -(dimethylamino)phenyl)(4 -(phenylamino) naphthalen-1 -yl)methylene)cyclohexa-2,5 -dienylidene)-N-methylmethanaminium acetate was estimated to be -1.5.On the basis of this value, the test substanceN-(4 -((4 -(dimethyl amino)phenyl)(4 -(phenylamino)naphthalen-1 -yl)methylene)cyclohexa-2,5 -dienylidene)-N-methylmethanaminium acetate can be considered to be hydrophilic in nature.

Water Solubility:

The water solubility determination of test item [4-[[4-anilino-1-naphthyl][4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]methylene]cyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene]dimethylammonium acetate (CAS No. 83803-79 -6) was done as per the OECD guideline 105 and by spectrophotometric analytical method as per OECD 101. The solubility of ([4-[[4-anilino-1-naphthyl][4-

(dimethylamino)phenyl]methylene]cyclohexa-2,5-dien-1-ylidene]dimethylammonium acetate [CAS:83803-79-6] in water was determined to be 142414.8 mg/l at 31°C.

Explosiveness:

The study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Oxidising properties:

The study does not need to be conducted because the organic substance contains oxygen or halogen atoms which are chemically bonded only to carbon or hydrogen and hence, the classification procedure does not need to be applied

Stability in organic solvents and identity of relevant degradation products :

The study does not need to be conducted because the stability of the substance is not considered to be critical.

pH :

The pH determination of test item [4-[[4-anilino-1-naphthyl][4-(dimethylamino)phenyl]methylene]cyclohexa- 2,5-dien-1-ylidene]dimethylammonium acetate (CAS No 83803-79-6) was done following OECD guideline 122. pH of 1% w/v emulsion was measured with the help of pH meter and it was observed to be 2.69 at 31°C.

Dissociation constant :

The study does not need to be conducted because the substance is readily oxidisable in water.

Viscosity :

Kinematic viscosity (experimental) of [4 -[[4 -anilino-1 -naphthyl][4 - (dimethylamino)phenyl]methylene]cyclohexa-2,5 -dien-1 -ylidene]dimethylammonium acetate( CAS No.83803 -79 -6)at 20°C and 40°C is 51.8700 mm²/sec and 47.1770 mm²/s, respectively.

Dynamic viscosity (calculated) of [4 -[[4 -anilino-1 -naphthyl][4 -(dimethylamino)phenyl]methylene]cyclohexa-

2,5 -dien-1 -ylidene]dimethylammonium acetate ( CAS No. 83803 -79 -6) at 20°C and 40°C is 57.1244 mPa.S and 51.9560 mPa.S, respectively.
