First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove affected person to fresh air and allow to rest.
Obtain medical attention if there is any respiratory
distress.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush immediately with plenty of water for 15 minutes.
Ensure that the eyeball and the inside of the eyelids are
properly bathed by gently prising open the eyelids. Also
make sure that the contaminated water runs off the face away
from the eyes. Obtain medical attention.
Emergency measure - Skin: Wash the affected parts of the body with soap and warm
water. If skin irritation develops seek medical advice.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Obtain medical attention.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: Water-spray, foam, dry powder or carbon dioxide
extinguishers may be used.
Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a
fire, evolving noxious fumes (eg resin acids, acrylates,
carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and carbonaceous smoke).
However, there is no experimental evidence to support the
anticipated combustion products.

Protective equipment: Full protective clothing and self-contained breathing
apparatus must be worn, operated in positive pressure mode.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from immediate vicinity.
Wear appropriate personal protective equipment conforming to
the relevant national or international standards as
mentioned in section 2.3.10.
In case of spillage, the substance should be swept or
vacuumed up, avoiding the generation of airborne dust.
Gloves and suitable respiratory protection should be worn.
Carefully transfer the spillage to waste containers, or use
a sealed industrial vacuum machine. Containers filled with
waste material must be labelled in the same way as the
original containers.
Clean the spillage area with water and detergent.
Dispose of waste material by incineration or landfill in
accordance with local regulations.
Handling and storage
Handling: The substance should be stored, handled and used in
conditions of good industrial hygiene and in conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure.
Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance.
When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
appropriate personal protective equipment should be worn.
Such protective equipment should conform to the appropriate
international or national standards as follows;
Chemical protective gloves to Standard EN374
Chemical resistant clothing to Standard EN368
Eye protection to Standard EN166
When necessary appropriate respiratory protection should be
used. e.g. a dust mask conforming to EN149 FFP1 or a vapour
mask conforming to EN405 FFA1.
The standards mentioned above should be regarded as a
minimum.
Storage: Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated area.
Keep containers tightly closed when not in use.
Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 25kg sealed plastic bag within a sealed paper sack and a
sealed fibreboard box.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Ingredients with workplace control parameters
Engineering measures: Ensure adequate ventilation, especially in confirmed areas. Minimize
workplace exposure concentrations. Dust formation may be relevant in the processing of this product. In addition to
substance-specific OELs, general limitations of concentrations of particulates in the air at workplaces have to be considered in workplace risk
Stability and reactivity
Danger other than fire: None reported
Chemical reaction with water: None reported
Dust explosion: There is a potential dust explosion hazard from this organic
substance when in powdered form (lower explosive limit 1.5
g/l), however in practice, the substance is handled as a
solid lump and hence the dust explosion hazard will be
minimised.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Recovery from minor spillages or accidental discharge is not
economically or technically feasible, and such waste
material will be disposed of by incineration or landfill. In
principle, it may be possible to recover larger spillages of
uncontaminated material for subsequent use.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The notification tests have not shown the substance to have
any properties considered hazardous to human health.
However, it is classified as dangerous to the environment
based on the low water solubility, high Pow and lack of
biodegradability. There are no practical treatments to
neutralise the potentially hazardous effects.
The dust hazard will be minimised by appropriate storage and
handling techniques.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Waste material may be disposed of by landfill at an
authorised tip in accordance with local regulations.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at a licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes could be formed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged directly to
the sewage system or the aqueous environment.
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable as the substance will not be made available
to the general public.
Public at large - Possibility of neutralisation: Not applicable as the substance will not be made available
to the general public.
Public at large - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Not applicable as the substance will not be made available
