Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Nominal / measured:
nominal
Conc. based on:
test mat.
Basis for effect:
inhibition of total respiration
Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Conclusions:
At the tested concentration (nominal 100 mg/l) no significant inhibition was observed.
Executive summary:

An activated sludge respiration inhibition test was performed with Safranal P. In a limit test a test concentration of 100 mg/l (nominal) was tested.

At the tested concentration (nominal 100 mg/l) no significant inhibition was observed.

Therefore: EC50(3 hours) of Safranal P > 100 mg/l; EC10(3 hours) of Safranal P > 100 mg/l; NOEC (3 hours) of Safranal P = 100 mg/l

Description of key information

In an activated sludge respiration inhibition test performed according to OECD 209 guidelines, no significant inhibition was observed at the tested concentration of 100mg/L. This concentration can be considered as a NOEC for the toxicity to STP microorganisms.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

An activated sludge respiration inhibition test was performed with Safranal P. A limit test at a test concentration of 100 mg/l (nominal) was performed. No significant inhibition was observed. Therefore the EC50(3 hours) of Safranal P > 100 mg/l; EC10(3 hours) of Safranal P > 100 mg/l and the NOEC (3 hours) of Safranal P = 100 mg/l.
