The acute toxicity of the test item Navy MGi 1571|REG lo Daphnia magna was determined in a 48-hour static test accord¡ng to the OECD Guideline No. 202, Part l (1984).
A limit test was performed in accordance with the EU Commission Directive 92/69/EEC to demonstrate that the test item has no toxic effect on the test organisms up to and including the concentration of nominal 110 mg/L (corresponding to about 100 mg/L when corrected for a water content of about 6%). Thus, the only concentration tested was nominal 110 mg/L and a control.
The test item concentration in the duplicate test medium samples from the start and the end of the test was 104 and 111 % of the nominal value, respectively. The mean measured concentration (calculated as the average over all measurements of the test concentration) was 108% of nominal. Under the test conditions, the test item Navy MG¡ 1571 was stable during the test period of 48 hours. Therefore, all reported results are related to the nominal concentration of the test item.
ln the control and at the test item concentration of 110 mg/L, no immobilized test organisms were determined during the test period of 48 hours.
The 48-hour NOEC (highest concentration tested without toxic etfects after the exposure period of 48 hours) and the 48-hour EC0 of Navy MGi 1571 to Daphnia magna were determined to be at least 110 mg/L. These values might even be higher but concentrations above 110 mg/L were not tested. The 48-hour EC50 and the 48-hour EC100 were clearly higher than 110 mg/L. These values could not be quantified due to the absence of toxicity of Navy MGi 1571 at the test concentration of 110 mg/L.
