Description of key information

FAT 40061/F TE is a yellow powder, solid at 20 °C. When tested according to OECD test guideline 102 for melting point and OECD test guideline 103 for boiling point determination the substance did not melt or boil until 330 °C, at which it started to undergo thermic decomposition. Average relative density of FAT 40061/F TE at 20 °C was found to be1.3126 g/cm³. The particle size distribution was as follows:

Percentage of test item with an inhalable particle size <100 µm (Sieve Method): 95.9 %

Percentage of test item with a thoracic particle size <10.0 µm (Cascade Impactor): 0.27 %

Percentage of test item with a respirable particle size <5.5 µm (Cascade Impactor): 0.17 %.

The partition co-efficient n-octanol/water at 20 °C was determined to: Pow = 0.0000183, Log Pow = -4.74. The water solubility at 20 °C was determined to197 g/l(without correction for the purity). The surface tension was determined to be 44.848 mN/m at 20 °C. The auto-ignition temperature could not be determined as auto-ignition was not seen up to 550 ° C.FAT 40061/F is considered as not highly flammable and to be not explosive and not oxidising.
