Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- In conclusion, the test item does not boil under ambient conditions.
- Executive summary:
The detemination of the boiling point /boiling range of the test item was performed according to the EEC Directive 92/69, A.2 "Boiling temperature", December 1992 and to the OECD Guideline No. 103: "Boiling point". adopted July 27, 1995.
Using thermal analysis, no endothermic peaks were detected. in the temperatur range between 25°C and 400°C from which the boiling point could be deducted.. The first endothermic heat effect is due to the melting of the test item (see RCC study 818605). Further an exothermic reaction was observed starting at about 330°C. After the experiment, the sample had lost about 86% of its mass and the residue was carbonized.
In order to determine the observed heat effects more precisely a further DSC-run was recorded in the temperatur range of 25°C to 400°C with a temperature rate of 10K/min. During this run, the boiling of ZP-TIX 1014 was not observed which confirms the result of the preliminary test. After the experiment the sample lost about 70% of its mass and was black and carbonized.
In conclusion the test item does not boil under ambient conditions.
