Description of key information

Based on the nominal concentrations of the test item 1,3-divinylimidazolidin-2-one, the 72 hour-EC50 for Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata was 182 mg/L (95 % confidence limits: 12.1 - 12.5 mg/L) and EC10 was 46.3 mg/L (95% CI: <25.0-58.9mg/L).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
182 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
46.3 mg/L

Additional information

In this study, 1,3-divinylimidazolidin-2-one was found to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green alga Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata over the period of 72 hours. The EC50-value for inhibition of specific growth rate (ErC50) after 72 hours was 182 (95% CI: 174 -190 mg/L) mg test item/L, the EC20- and EC10-values were 94.2 (95% CI: 85.4 -104mg/L) and 46.3 (95% CI: < 25.0 -58.9mg/L) mg test item/L, respectively.
