Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Mean 72h-ErC50 between experimental and predicted values:
72h-ErC50 = 8.1 mg/L; 72h NOEC for specific growth = 2.5 mg/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for freshwater algae:
8.1 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
2.5 mg/L

Additional information

A validated High Accuracy QSAR value for acute toxicity of the registered substance to algae resulted in a 72 h ErC50 of 8.8 mg/L.

In a non-GLP study conducted in 2013 that can only be used as supporting evidence for the QSAR, the test substance was found to inhibit the growth of the freshwater green algae Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata with the following effect value (geometric mean measured test item concentrations): the EC50 value after 72 h was 7.4 mg/L (95% CI: 6.8–8.3 mg/L). As the experimental data are very close to the predictions, the supporting experimental data are used to calculate a mean value of the studies.

The mean 72 h ErC50 for acute toxicity for this endpoint is 8.1 mg/L.

The NOEC to be used in risk assessment for this endpoint is 2.5 mg/L based on growth rate from a published study used in a weight of evidence approach.
