Guidance on Safe Use
Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information:
In case of accident or if you feel unwell seek medical advice immediately (show the label if possible).
After inhalation:
Move to fresh air, keep the victim laying down and restful. If breathing has stopped, give artificial respiration.
After contact with the skin:
Wash with plenty of water or water and soap. Seek medical advice in case of continuous irritation. Remove contaminated or soaked clothing.
After contact with the eyes:
Rinse immediately with plenty of water. Follow up check by oculist.
After swallowing:
Do not induce vomiting. Danger of aspiration. Seek medical advice immediately and produce the label or packaging.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable extinguishing media:
water spray, extinguishing powder, foam, carbon dioxide.
Extinguishing media which must not be used for safety reasons:
water jet.
Hazardous combustion products: hydrogen chloride, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, silicon dioxide. Heavy soot formation during combustion.Special protective equipment for fire fighting:
Use respiratory protection independent of recirculated air.
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Wear personal protection equipment. Keep unprotected persons away. Take persons to a safe place. Avoid inhaling mists and vapours. Avoid contact with eyes and skin.
Environmental precautions
Contain any fluid that runs out using suitable material (e.g. earth). Prevent material from entering sewers or surface waters. Observe local/state/federal regulations.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Absorb with a liquid binding material such as diatomaceous earth and dispose of according to local/state/federal regulations. Contain larger amounts and pump up into suitable containers.
Further information:
Eliminate all sources of ignition.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Ensure adequate ventilation.
Precautions against fire and explosion:
Keep away from sources of ignition and do not smoke. Observe the general rules for fire prevention. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic charging.
Conditions for storage rooms and vessels:
Unsuitable material for storage containers, casks and pipelines: iron, polyethylene.
Advice for storage of incompatible materials:
none known.
Further information for storage:
Keep in the original container in a cool well ventilated place. Keep container dry and tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection
Control parameters: -
Exposure in the work place limited and controlledGeneral protection and hygiene measures:
Avoid contact with eyes and skin. Do not breathe vapours.
Personal protection equipment:
Respiratory protection
In case of long or strong exposure: gas mask filter ABEK.
Hand protection
Protective gloves generally only suitable as splash protection. Protective gloves made of butyl rubber (0,7 mm) . The permeation time is reduced by mechanical and thermal stresses above 20°C. The selection of appropriate gloves not only depends on the material, but also on other quality characteristics, and may vary depending on the manufacturer. Please observe information from your glove supplier in terms of permeability and breakthrough time.
Eye protection
protective goggles.
Skin protection
full protective suit.
Exposure to the environment limited and controlled
Prevent material from entering surface waters, drains or sewers and soil.
Stability and reactivity
Reactivity; Chemical stability; Possibility of hazardous reactions
If stored and handled in accordance with standard industrial practices no hazardous reactions are known.
Conditions to avoid
none known.
Incompatible materials
strong bases
Hazardous decomposition products
If stored and handled properly: none known.
Disposal considerations
Waste treatment methods
Material
Recommendation:
Dispose of according to regulations by incineration in a special waste incinerator. Observe local/state/federal regulations.
Uncleaned packaging
Recommendation:
Completely discharge containers (no tear drops, no powder rest, scraped carefully). Containers may be recycled or re-used. Observe local/state/federal regulations. Uncleaned packaging should be treated with the same precautions as the material.
