Description of key information

The acute toxicity of melamine to Daphnia magna is low.

Additional information

The key study (Frazier 1988) is the newer of both available studies, following the EPA guideline and GLP, and was therefore selected as key. The results of the other study (Adema 1978) were consistent with those of Frazier 1988.

EC50/LC50, based on the criteria mortality and immobility, for freshwater invertebrates: 200 mg/L.
