Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Data are available for the following streams in this category. 68131-75-9 is a petroleum product and, at 20°C and 1013 hPa, the substance is a colourless liquefied gas with a slight odour (Borealis 2009). 68476-49-3 is a petroleum product and, at 20°C and 1013 hPa, the substance is a colourless liquefied gas with a faint hydrocarbon odour (LyondellBasell 2009). 68476-86-8 is a petroleum product and, at 20°C and 1013 hPa, the substance is a colourless liquefied gas and is odourless (Polimeri Europe). 87741-01-3 is a petroleum product and, at 20°C and 1013 hPa, the substance is a colourless liquefied gas and is odourless (odour is characterisitic if odourised) (LyondellBasell 2009). 68606-26-8, at 20°C and 1013 hPa, is a liquefied gas (INEOS Olefins & Polymers Europe). 95465-89-7 is a petroleum product and, at 20°C and 1013 hPa, the substance is a liquefied gas with a slightly aromatic odour (Repsol 2009). 68476-85-7 is a petroleum product and, at 20°C and 1013 hPa, the substance s a clear liquefied gas with a characteristic odour (Borealis 2009). 68476-40-4, at 20°C and 1013 hPa, is gaseous (Dow Benelux B.V. 2009).

According to the CRC Handbook (Lide 2008) and the Merck Handbook (O'Neill 2006), the representative constituents of the other petroleum gases (methane, ethane, ethylene, propane, butane and isobutane) are colourless, odourless gases at standard temperature and pressure.

Information on 1,3 -butadiene is taken from a reliable peer reviewed handbook (O'Neil 2006) and so can be considered reliable and suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint. This result is supported by data from the CRC Handbook (Lide 2008) indicating that 1,3 -butadiene is a gas.
